Interpretive Signage

Early settler in this area, George Lawson, was born in Staithes, Yorkshire, England in 1839 and passed away in Cairns in 1907. George referred to the large hill at the northern end of this beach as his 'Nab', recalling The Old Nab and The Penny Nab, both hillsides that sit at each end of the seaside village of his birth.
