This work draws its inspiration from the many changes the Fig tree undergoes throughout its yearly cycle. It recognises and amplifies the diverse functions it fulfills from personal survival and growth to sheltering and hosting a range of other species and plants. The work is divided into 5 independent artworks which respond to the themes of GROWTH, ABSORPTION, OCCUPANCY, ADAPTATION and SURVIVAL. All these themes are responses and are possible due to seasonal change. The works are abstractions but also responsive to the form and function of the Fig.
The artist for this work is Craig Walsh, with the animation created by Steven Thomasson.
