Ikambala and Uyinthayn
Teho Ropeyarn

Artists Statement: As a printmaker, my work reflect stories of my traditional country, its history and the clangs groups. This work incorporates two totems, Uyinthayn being the freshwater turtle totem of Ankgmauthi and Ikambala, the crocodile totem of Yadhaykana, two of the four clans that make up the Injinoo people. I am connected to both clan groups which make them my traditional totems. They are seen swimming upstream through freshwater river sharing country being connected through boundaries and waterways.
