The Australian Armour & Artillery Museum is a privately operated facility with the largest collection of military weapons in the southern hemisphere. Large artillery pieces are presented in a large hangar-like display gallery. Many of the machines are still fully mobile. Several First World War British, French and German artillery pieces, along with a diverse collection of machine guns and small arms, are displayed. The collection includes a British 6" howitzer, German 15cm Schwere Feldhaubitze 13, a 7.7 cms FK16 Field Gun, and a German 7.58 cm Leichter Minenwerfer trench mortar. Numerous other armaments relating to the First World War form part of the small arms gallery. They include Vickers and Maxim machine guns and a wide range of hand-guns and rifles. Admission charges apply. Light refreshments are available and there is a comprehensive museum shop onsite.
