I work at the Artists@work Studio and Gallery (the purple building) at 29 Sheridan Street, Cairns, opposite Rusty’s markets, where I also exhibit a range of my paintings and do paintings on commission, as well as being co-curator of the Gallery.
My works range from fine drawing to colourful abstract imagery using many different media and techniques, from coloured pencils, inks and acrylics to encaustic (wax painting). They include vivid works from my expanding collection “Rooftops of Prague”.
I was born in Melbourne in 1950, majoring in pure mathematics at Melbourne University. At age 25 I started drawing (self taught), then attended art schools in the early 1990s. Since then I have travelled extensively in Australia and Europe, living and painting for nearly four years in the Czech Republic, and held exhibitions in Cairns, Perth and Prague.
Travel, my mathematical bent, and imagination have greatly influenced the imagery and style of my many and varied artworks.
